Recently a non-sewing friend surprised me with a gift from her trip to Japan (about a year ago – we don’t keep in touch regularly).
It was a lovely set of handmade pins from a tiny accoutrement shop specialising in sewing needs . . . and wants.

The pins are exquisite and I suspect they will remain as a display because they are too precious to use.

Some things are just too precious to use. I have a set of wooden thread winders I bought in France that give me joy just looking at them

Unfortunately I don’t have a suitable display section in my sewing room. I might need to ‘accidentally’ leave them on a shelf in the living room.
