Last weekend I was in Canberra for the annual guild exhibition. I entered two quilts, both shown at QuiltWest earlier this year.
Best of Show, and other awards, went to a quilt with strong Modern influences. All of the winning quilts may be viewed here.
My collaborative quilt Go Dockers, with blocks contributed by ten of the Quirky Quilters, was entered into the Group Quilt category where it won a Third place ribbon.
I was very pleased as this was a fairly modest quilt and I’m hoping the simple but eye-catching design and colours put me over the line.
The weekend gave me excellent opportunities to catch up with my family. It was very cold while I was there, but no need for a raincoat. All of NSW is in severe drought, while we in the west have had record rainfall.
